«SANTANA»
is a ketch, and is 21,5 m (71’) long, 5,4 m wide, depl. ca. 40 ton, constructed
by Van De Stadt
and is of the type OCEAN 71.
«SANTANA» is a nice sailing yacht with classic lines and a good maritime
standard.
She was launched first time back in 1971 from Southern Ocean Shipyard in
Poole with the name «SANTA II».
Around 1984 the yacht got an new owner, and was renamed to «SANTANA».
In 1991/1992 she had an thorough upgrade.
«SANTANA» has a history of several Atlantic crossings with i.a.
victory in ARC and cruise's in the Mediterranean.
The current owner got «SANTANA» the spring of 1999 after a few week's
cruise the winter of 1998 in the Caribbean.
The winter
2002/2003 ”SANTANA” got the underwater hull armoured and upgraded trough
heating, vacuum and injection of epoxy by the HotVac method.
The Instruments was also replaced with new radar, GPS,
map-plotter, vindinstruments,
log, sounder and autopilot from SIMRAD.

From the saloon

«SANTANA»
has six sleeping cabins with room for 13, here we see 4 of them.
We will also find two toilettes with shower, a big saloon with galley and
spacious room on deck and in the two cockpits.
The Galley has among other things, two big fridges, oven, cooker and a lot
of other kitchen equipment.
In the saloon 12 person may be served. Outside it might be served 8 - 10 persons
in 2 cockpits.
«SANTANA» is
suitable for both social events and incentive tours for employees as for
representations-, regatta- and holidays. ”Santana” has no passenger
certificate.
The yacht is therefore letting out on hire with one who knows the locality
/ instructor from/to it's home harbour at Nedre Bekkelaget in Oslo, Norway.
